With a flash of inspiration in 1825 that started the Clarks shoe company. James Clark was busy working at the English tannery owned by his brother, Cyrus, when he looked at the scraps of sheepskin, cast-offs and off-cuts around him and thought, "Slippers!" A few stitches and years later, the sheepskin slipper was born.
This was the first Clarks shoe and the opening chapter in a remarkable story that continues to unfold. Fashions in footwear have come and gone, and yet Clarks has kept pace with court shoes, "winkle0ickers," wedge heels, sandals and sneakers. They've found followers among crooners, rockers, Britpoppers and hip hoppers. They’ve "walked, marched, strode and sashayed through an ever-changing world."
All the while, Clarks has continued to put their heart and those "eureka" moments into every pair of shoes they create for men, women and children. New technology, state-of the-art facilities and their love of shoes means they're not only the number-one shoe brand in the UK. With continuing growth in North America, Western and Eastern Europe, India and China, they also are the world's largest casual and smart shoe company and the fourth largest footwear company on the planet.
Expect great style combined with features for comfort and 'foot health,' as well as buying tips on how to keep your feet working for you, rather than against you. Even their dress shoes for both sexes are some of the most comfortable shoes you'll ever wear. So, you can expect the same detail to kids' shoes, too.

Review:
This is a cute shoe but don't let the looks fool you ..they are pure evil.I bought these shoes for comfort and within 20 minutes of walking in them I had blisters on the bottoms of my feet the size of Texas. The tags that are sewn onto the inside of the shoe rub like crazy because the edges stick up. What a dumb design. I wanted to burn these shoes but I am hoping to get my money back so I had to preserve them for that reason. The only good thing was that I did not pay full price for them because I got them at a Marshalls. Don't waste your money on these shoes.
