Overview of the Chaco Shoe Company and Chaco Shoe Reviews

If you're looking for perfect fit, function, comfort and quality, then Chaco shoes might be for you. Fit for adventure since 1989, everything Chaco does revolves around these concepts. From new style introductions to changes in current styles, everything passes a litmus test to determine whether their changes truly are improvements.

Don't expect complicated footwear and hype from Chaco. Instead, you might develop a lifelong commitment to Chaco footwear. You also might be drawn to this company's commitment to sustainability. They pay their employees to ride their bikes to work, volunteer their time and advance their education. They strive to make a positive impact in their local communities and beyond. In 2006, Chaco was awarded the Community Award by the Western Slope Environmental Resource Council and was recognized by the North Fork River Improvement Association for work in removing the Chipeta Dam.

Located in Colorado's Rocky Mountain region, their environment provides a "ground-zero" opportunity to test their shoes in a variety of environments. They see first-hand the importance of establishing a comfortable and safe shoe hand-in-hand with maintaining a responsibility to the environment. They sponsor lectures, have created a recycling program and purchased 400-megawatt hours of wind-powered Green Certificates to match 100 percent of their yearly electrical usage. By doing this, they reduced carbon dioxide emissions - the primary cause of global climate change - by more than 572,000 pounds.

But, it's their shoes that will make a tangible difference in your world. Built for ruggedness and comfort, yet stylish, Chaco fits your adventure and attitude. With the assistance of a certified pedorthist, they designed the contours of their footbed to control pronation and maximize performance. Their 'BioCentric' footbed ensures a supported, comfortable stride in any activity and as a result, has been awarded the Seal of Acceptance by the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA).

From sandals to sports shoes and more for men, women and children, you can find your fit for adventure at Chaco.

I wasn't impressed at first with this thong sandal, but after wearing them, I was sold. The support for my arch is perfect, and it solves a problem I have with many sandals. Plus, the thong is soft, and the look is minimal - perfect for summer wear!

When it comes to a choice between a well-made hiker from a sustainable company and a well-made hiker from a company that doesn't care about the environment, I'll take the first. Beyond this, the Canyonland Low is a great hiking shoe. It has great grip, it's secure on the foot, and I relish the comfort and support. Can't go wrong.

These Chaco sneakers are the best ever for hiking or walking long distances. The fit is incredible and the tops are very comfortable. I never hiked without sox before, but with these hiking shoes, it's possible (although my shoes now stink!)
