Adi Dassler had a dream to make the best sport shoes possible back in the 1920s. By 1927, the D.R.P. (Deutches Rechsm-Patent) was in creation, a shoe with short-distance spike that was used in the 1928 Olympic Games in Amsterdam.
Dassler followed three guiding principles in his shoe development. He wanted to produce the best shoe to serve the needs of the sport, to protect and athlete from injury, and to make the product durable. Throughout the twentieth century, Dessler remained faithful to his goals and athletes made his shoes some of the most well-known sports shoes in the world.
By 2000, the Adidas Group began to develop revolutionary products based upon the concept of "Energy Maintenance" for six sports: swimming, track and field, cycling, fencing, weightlifting and wrestling. That year, Adidas was named "Advertiser of the Year" and was presented with the prestigious Clio Award in New York. This is the standard that Adidas has set over the past nine decades, and it's a legacy that guarantees the wearer with a world-class sport shoe.
Adidas continues to stay at the forefront of technology as this company forges into the future with performance, style and price. Performance shoes run the gamut of shoes made specifically for basketball, running, soccer and more. They now carry apparel that also meets the same standards as their shoes, so each sport carries a line of clothing from headgear to footwear designed specifically and technically for a given sport.
Additionally, Adidas carries special "originals", or shoes that were made in the 1900s and that are still state-of-the-art for athletes. No matter if you're a rookie or a pro, or a female, male or kid - Adidas has a shoe for you at a price you can afford. They managed to convince me that it was good for blood circulation at the store - I am not really too sure about that - but it sure is different to walk on and after a while it feels kinda good

Three years ago, I was grossly overweight, and I couldn't run worth jack. Today, I train for marathons, and I trust nothing other than my Adidas cross-trainers to support my feet and keep them comfortable.
